THE BEST SEASONS TO GET MARRIED IN PHILADELPHIA

One of the most important elements about planning your wedding is choosing the “perfect date”, the one that will work for you, for your loved ones, when your perfect venue is available, when your budget allows it, the closest date to your anniversary or any other important memory. Let us make it easier for you: no matter what date you choose, there is no right or wrong date. What matters on your wedding day is that your vision was executed perfectly, and that can be done in the summer, or in the winter. Couples have chosen to have winter weddings with a summer ambiance, and have the best fun they could think of. What seasons you should get married depends on what you want and what matters to you. One of the beauties of having your celebration in Philadelphia, besides being one the best historical cities you can get married at, is the fact that we truly experience all four seasons.
Mild and balanced weather most of the year, with a couple of cold months from December to March, the average daily high temperature is below 49°F.

Mild and balanced weather most of the year, with a couple of cold months from December to March, the average daily high temperature is below 49°F.

Winter –Spring seasons: From November to March.
For many wedding venues, this period is considered the off-season. Temperatures vary between 42 and 53. Some things to remember when planning a wedding in this period:

- Be mindful of chilly weather as early as the beginning of November, especially when shopping for your dress or the bridesmaids' dresses.
- The possibility of having some showery/snowy days is also high, and we recommend avoiding outdoor venues.
For yours and your guest's safety and comfort, setting up a plan B for ceremony settings is a good idea.
Consider hiring a transportation company and not relying on public car services such as Uber or Lyft. Also having both the ceremony and the reception at the same location limits travels and makes your guests safer, especially out-of-town guests.
- Getting married during the off-season, you take advantage of many specials and discounts on food and beverage, and on decorations, as many venues would put their staple seasonal decorations up.
- The days are short: if you want to have more time to take beautiful daylight photos, let your wedding planner know so that they can coordinate with your photographer to create a timeline that targets the best places to get your favorite shots without rushing. This might also be a good opportunity to have your first look before the ceremony and have those beautiful shots. In addition, because it gets dark early, we recommend starting the ceremony early, that way you will have more time to celebrate with your loved ones: a 2pm, or even 4 pm ceremony time will give you more time with your guest without rushing to get home too late on a cold night.
- Be mindful of those wedding dates that fall on a holiday: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve, New year, Valentine's Day, and Easter - those are days where you can still get married, as some venues might offer specials if it falls during the week, versus on a popular weekend, for example. On the other hand, some vendors might be in high demand and increase their prices: florists might be really busy around Valentine's day for example.

Summer - Fall season: From April to October.
- This is a really busy season to get married in Philadelphia. Despite some possible (but rare) snow showers in early April, temperatures can vary between 47 and 67. With some of the most popular months to get married in Philadelphia, between May and October, beware of the humidity of July and the rainy and stormy days of August. We believe that Pennsylvania's geographical position is a blessing on that note, as we do not experience extreme weather conditions like other states.
- Most weddings will happen in June. This is the month when you can go ahead and put on that off-shoulder dress without worrying about a cold breeze! dress You will have to book your vendors early if you are planning a wedding that month due to vendors being in high demand, especially accommodations: a lot of events both business and political, take place in Philadelphia during the summer, so booking your hotel room blocks early will give your guests the best rates. the city. On the other hand, might be the best time for your guests to travel and enjoy the city if they are out of town.
- June also has some surprises such as thunderstorms, so a plan B is still necessary when planning an outdoor wedding. However, when the weather is sunny, you can enjoy long wedding days with your guests and plan for an evening wedding (later ceremony time) without too much worry
- In September and October, you have a cool breeze during the day, not too much sun, and it gets cold a little later in the evening.
- Dates to be mindful of are: Easter in April, Mother's day weekend, Memorial Day in May, and 4th of July.
